my son was born with a cleft palate, and he going to have the surgery at 12months (hes 7 weeks now). I'm scared about the surgery and how to get him to drink from an open cup beforehand. Also, I'm using Pigeon nipple and they seem to work great, do any of you know of a bottle I can buy at a store that's the same thing but soesn't cost $9 a bottle? Thanks!

IMy friends baby was born with a cleft lip and a cleft palate. I'm not to sure of when his surgeries were. But I believe his first was at a couple of months old to fix his lip. It went right up into his nostril. And at 12 months he had one for his palate.
I'm not sure about the bottles, I know she used special bottles given to her by the hospital. And he learnt to drink from a straw before his surgery.
