Kingdom, known in history since the Egyptian Pharaohs. Christianised around year 100 AD. Conquered by Muslims between 12 and 16 century. main source of slaves for Arabia and China. Last known place where slave trade is de facto legal. Civil war for the past 50 years or so. Oil deposits found in the last 10 years, sold mostly to China in exchange for weapons.
