What an odd question. Sodium in the way it is most likely meant here (as a chunk of the free element) would never be found in nature because it is too unstable. But, for the sake of argument, if anyone ever offers you a chunk of sodium, keep it dry. It is exothermically reactive with water and could explode even from the moisture on your skin. I guess wrap it in something dry like a shirt, put it in a plastic bag and leave it where it is, before going to get somebody to take care of it.
