I wasn't too surprised by his choice.
He's a good pitcher who can get the ball in the upper 90s and has about 3 other pitches that be can throw on a consistant basis. He has good size for a pitcher, too.
By picking baseball, he has the opportunity to make much more money, and will have a longevity that he wouldn't have playing football. The workouts are lighter, though different, as well.

ya i was kind of shocked to. from what i seen he is a good football player. i know he has a really good pair of hands but im not sure about his speed. there are many many better receivers than him in the nfl and ncaa. im guessing that he probably came to a conclusion that he will have a better future with baseball rather than football.
hes a stud though. to choose between profession baseball and football. damn. lol.

1. Safer(injuries wise)
2. If you are good, you can make more money (compare the highest contracts in baseball/football)
3. You can play longer and thus...more money
4. Will be able to walk when he's 50.

It's what I call the Charlie Ward principle. Make decent money and have less chance of getting hurt, or make great money and risk being a bust and beat up to hell. He took the safer choice, which I can't blame him for, especially if he does do well in MLB.

i don't know if you got a chance to play in the NFL you gotta take it. "baseball is Americas pastime but football is truly Americas passion." Howie Long

Baseball makes more money and is less dangerous. He's not going to get decked throwing a 98-mph fastball.

He sounds pretty smart to me. If he's good enough he'll have a longer career, make more money and get injured a lot less.
