Easiest legal way is to purchase aftermarket tuner and chip. Some popular brands are: SCT, Predator, Diablo.

Once installed you can adjust the governor and lots of other stuff.
Make sure you know how to return to the baseline in case you need to have dealer service.

LOL. I have been asking the same question about my Mazda 6. A new chip is a good answer if one is available for a 3. As far as I know there is not. (if there was I could use it on my 6 as the 3s shares the same 2.3 as my 6i) Maybe some day. But for now you cant really do anything but put up with it.

On the other hand I know the speed 3 goes alot faster.

If you do the car will not be legal and if your insurance finds out - not insured
