According to the shettle's method, you should have sex within 12 hours before or within a day of ovulating. This is because the male sperm swim fast & die quickly. If you have sex 3 days before your period, you're more likely to get a girl. Girl sperm swim slow & die take a few days to die.

If you want to get pregnant you should start having sex 3 days before ovulation not your period.and then every other day and one day after you've ovulated....If you dont know when you ovulate they have ovulation kits you can buy at the drug store....as for having a boy they say have sex the day of ovulation and the day after...I dont know if it holds any truth but that is what I heard..It just depends on which sperm makes it to the egg first...Good Luck!

No, if your cycle is 28 days, it would be day 14 (close to ovulation). Get yourself a good ovulation calendar. I use http://www.fertilitygal.com and highly recommend it. It shows you when you are most likely to conceive a girl or boy.

If you have sex 3 days before your period you arn't going to get pregnant, you've already ovulated, it's right at ovulation for a boy. Female sperm lives longer, but swims slower, and male sperm swims fast, but die quicker.
