PALM DESERT - Kelli Rene Luna didn't believe in living a life of regret.

A vibrant 22-year-old mother from Palm Desert, she was madly in love with her 3½-year-old daughter, whom she called "my life ."

Images on Luna's MySpace page show an attractive woman smiling coyly at the camera, who appears to love her friends and family - enjoying the life she was making for herself.

That life, though, came to a sudden end early Monday.

As reported on thedesertsun.com, Luna was one of two passengers in a Volkswagon Jetta killed early Monday when the car's driver, believed to have been intoxicated, allegedly slammed into the rear of a semi-tractor trailer as it made a turn at Highway 111 and Town Center Way in Palm Desert.

The crash occurred about 2:15 a.m., according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Also killed in the crash, was passenger Brian Woodward Murray, 23, of Palm Desert. Murray was pronounced dead at the scene.

Honey, please accept my sympathy. That is so sad, and tragic. I feel so bad for her daughter, and, her family, and friends. I wish people would read it, and realize that driving, and alcohol do NOT mix. I can't tell you how long you're going to feel dazed, because it's different for everyone. I just hope, and pray you have someone to talk to. Hugs, Sybil. ~~~~

I am sorry for your loss. If it is of any help, she will live on forever in your heart. You are right about drinking and driving. They just don't mix. I wish her family and friends the best during this difficult time. I hope that you can get through this difficult time. It isn't easy to lose someone. So always remember that she will live on forever in your heart. Hopefully, your friend Kelli is at peace.

That's crazy, I lost a friend to a DUI just outside of Palm Springs and I was involved in a DUI related accident in Palm Desert on Fred Waring Dr. I think it was.

Sorry to hear about your loss. The desert seems to have a lot of DUI related accidents.

I HATE DRUNK DRIVERS!!! I can identify with your pain. I lost a daughter not to a drunk driver but from SIDS. She would have been 13 and I still miss her terribly. The pain never goes away but you can work through it. When my daughter passed someone asked me if I would want her to know she ruined my life. You need to live and remember she would want you to also. If it helps do a memorial or some other kind of project for her. Donate some money in her name in that way her memory lives.
I am so sorry to hear someone is going through that pain and I wish you the best of luck.

Remember to LIVE for her.

My god, what a waste. That girl Kelli was beautiful. I'm sorry for your loss. It's going to take some time for you to get over this. If anything good comes of this it's maybe someone will stop drinking and driving. If you feel the need to talk, please email me, it's in my bio. Damn. This is one of the most tragic things I've seen for quite awhile. God Bless you and I'll pray for you.

I'm so sorry. I had a good friend that was buried Christmas eve. Car accident too but not drinking and driving. I am truly sorry for your loss and I know how you feel because I lost my brother the same way when he was 17.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Hopefully one day it won't be possible to drive a vehicle while intoxicated, that would save many lives.
