Ahh! Adalius Thomas! That would be a nice addition. Thx.

Because of their lack of abundant cap room, what player should the Colts think about trading or letting go?

Good point Carolina! I actually predicted to my brother that the Colts defense would step it up in the playoffs. My reasoning behind that was that Dungy is a defensive mastermind. People forget what he did with the Bucs back in the early 2000's. He was not going to let his boys go out the entire season like that. I honestly think that their D being so bad in the regular season worked to their benefit because, teams were expecting the same thing in the playoffs. The element of surprise. Not to mention, they got Sanders back.

Now that Manning has restructured his contract so that the Colts can get some help through free agency and the draft, they should be in good shape to repeat. OLB Cato June could leave via the free agent route, but there are many options to replace him. The only other possible problem spot is at MLB where an undersized Gary Brackett is the starter. Also expect the Colts to draft a defensive lineman to make themselves better against the run. With the last pick in the first round, expect them to address this need by picking DL Ray McDonald from Florida who is a very versatile lineman and will probably still be around when they draft. Unless unforeseen injuries occur, this team will be good for many years!

They need line backers that can help Bob Sanders out. Sanders is a great talent at safety, but if line backers don't do their job, Sanders is on his own. I'm still scratching my head on how they rebounded on defense for the playoffs out of nowhere like that. As somebody else said, Adalius Thomas would be a grand improvement for pass rush, making Freeney even more dangerous if people have to watch them both. Another thing that couldn't hurt is a bigger corner back. Against receivers that are considerably taller than them, the Colts can really struggle in stopping the pass. That is one of the reasons I think the Cowboys we able to beat the Colts last year, they have big, physical receivers to overpower the smaller CBs on Indy.

nothing they can do will ensure a repeat, this is the nfl and anything can happen...if they are able to sign a legit CB and LB to replace nick harper and cato june, they will be fine defensively and have a very good shot...adalius thomas is a brilliant idea but unfortunately will cost too much money for the colts to go after

despite a much improved run defense in the playoffs... Giving up 160+ yards in the regular season is not good.. they need help on Defense still

DEFENSE!

That's all there is to it. They don't have the cap room, but if they signed Adalius Thomas and Nate Clements, then they would repeat.

They need better defensive. The bears went all the way to the Superbowl because of their defense

They won't repeat. It's not like they have Brady at QB who's capable of winning multiple Super Bowls. Manning is ok but that's the only ring he'll get.
