The best way is to only tell people if they ask. If you make a big deal out of it you target yourself and that could lead to all sorts of drama within the workplace. I've seen it happen, and it' sjust not worth it if you like your job. Hopefully the ones that do ask will respect you enough not to turn it into a big deal.

Have your mate meet you for lunch and begin and end it with affection. I'm sure either rumors or the answer will come up, and then acknowledge it as the truth. I was seeing a girl, and she was going thru this, so I showed up to her job to take her to lunch, and just kissed her, and we left holding hands. When we returned, people asked her and she told them. I am a great ice-breaker!
Good luck! :)

wear a bright pink shirt that says on the front in bold letters, I'M GAY and a pair of coudory pants with brown leather loafers. sashay into work with rainbow flag in one hand and the other hand clutching your waist. if greeted by your fellow employees, respond loud and clear with a "heeeey girlfriend" and followed with finger-snaps in a Z formation . if that doesn't do it, then i guess the punchline is you work in a mental institution

why do you need to, i mean what does being gay have to do with the work environment. I'd think the only ones needing to come out at work are transsexuals that are transitioning on the job.
otherwise its no ones business.

Bring your girlfriend to the next office party, and introduce her as such. I think that will do the trick.
