When I was in Language Arts class, some of my
friends started to talk about Myspace, but then
my teacher said, "I don't want to hear anything about myspace." Why would she say that?

It was free time when this happened.
She also said it in a warning tone.

1st of all, because it probably had nothing to do with language arts. 2nd, myspace is a kind of personal pleasure, something to do at home on your own time, and teachers dont like it when class discussions lose focus on the subject at hand. and lastly, there are all kinds of horror stories about school age kids being the victims of predators they met thru myspace, and a lot of parents, teachers, and other concerned adults are kinda creeped out by the concept of thier kids, students, and friends sharing personal info on the web.

Well your teacher doesn't get paid to talk about MySpace does she? Your class is only an hour right? So just give her your time, attention and respect for that hour and you will have the rest of your life to talk about MySpace. Beside getting a good education is far more important then MySpace.

Unless it is specifically pertaining to the lesson being taught, you should not be talking about it unless you have free time.

She either said that cause it was part of class, or she doesn;t like my space and the other things said about it.
