after i get the first badge how do i get to slateport? It is very confusing.

head north of the city where you got the first badge from the rock gym (rustboro i think it's called) and to the east. there will be a man that stole the package or some such again. keep going right, and there's a tunnel with whismurs in it. save the guy's wingull, and then back in rustboro, head to see the president of the company that makes stuff like that pokenav
you'll then need to head just south (down) of the woods and there's a house, the old man that you saved his wingull lives in there. he'll take you to dewford city. when in dewford city, you really should get stuff there like drop off stephen's letter in the tunnel NW (up and left) of the city. and get the fishing rod.
then talk to the man with the boat again, and he'll offer to take you to slateport next.
