Have you talked to the teacher yourself? If not, that is where I would start. Hopefully the teacher will be more understanding if you give her more information. IF the teacher insists on the bio family tree, I would explain that there are not pictures avaliable and that it wouldn't be fair to give her a lower grade for that. If the teacher is still being difficult, talk to the principal. This is probably a new situation for everybody and some understanding from the school is in order here. I am not really a big fan of these types of projects because they can really make adopted children and foster children stand out.

I don't know food, but leprechaun's are shoe makers. According to Irish myth if a leprechaun comes across a broken shoe, they are compelled to repair it before it can move on. So, if you want to trap a leprechaun lay a trail of "gold" to a box trap baited with a broken shoe.

RE:
What do Leprechaun's eat and how would my daughter "catch" one for a school project??
My daughter has a project for school where she is to build a "trap" for a Leprechaun. Any ideas on what to put in it?

The only thing Leprechauns care about (and I speak from experience here) is their pot of gold. So unless you have a huge pot of gold laying around then your out of luck. However if you could somehow make a fake pot of gold that would be larger than what the leprechaun currently posseses then you might be abe to capture one.

We did this when I worked in the 1rst grade room. Leprahaun's like shiny things and money, so options are foil wrapped candy or coins, trinkets, and pretty things. Have fun. Be sure to ask her what happened to the room after the traps were set out. I had SO much fun going in that night and doing this!!

I think that you have to find a rainbow and put the trap at the end of it. Otherwise a good Irish dinner, corned beef, cabbage, potatoes.green beer,Irish soda bread, and play some good music for leprechaun dancing.

We put gold foiled chocolate coins(pirate coins) three at a time and exchanged for real coins when the Leprechaun came and ate them. It was fun but he is gone for the winter now that it is getting cold.
