Gastrointestinal upset is mentioned on the data sheet but not dyspepsia specifically. Since the drug is being used for migraine it would be safe to experiment, try stopping for 7-10 days and then restarting. By doing this you can confirm that it is the propranalol that is the cause. If it isn't it needs looked at separately.

If it is there are only 2 options. 1st add on a simple acid lowering drug. 2nd change to an alternative, pizotifen is very effective as a preventative. it has 2 side effects, increased appetite and sedation.

I take 80mg of propranolol a day & have also been prescribed 150mg of ranatidine(zantac) because of severe indigestion which my GP thinks is a side effect of the beta blocker although the patient leaflet does not list this as a side effect, it depends on the individual.Stomach upsets, nausea etc are a known side effect, if you have any doubt it may be worth a visit to your GP.

Hi I take Propanolol 10mg 3xdaily. I have never suffered with indigestion. I cant remember ever reading it either. Do you have your Patient Information Leaflet from the box handy? Have a read of that. I cant remember reading it, and never suffered. It could be another anxiety symptom?
