I have a stupid question. But nearly no one asked this.

I really don't know and I'm so good with computers.

Can I share RAM between to Networked Computers. Is their any program? Is their an RAM program? That you can use/run tasks on a online RAM thingy.

Something similar!!

Thanks,
Billy

I have never heard of sharing ram directly. You can setup a cluster of computers to process a task such as rendering over a local network. On the MAC OS they have this function built into OS X 10.4+ called xGrid that will use processor cycles on other machines to work on a task. But no real way to share RAM.

I supposed in theory you could setup a RAM drive on a computer and then share that out but you will not see 512MB increase to 1GB of Memory on your machine. But that isn't the same thing and will serve you no purpose.

If you do manage to find out a way to do this please let me know that might make for an interesting kill my weekend project.

No you can't share RAM and you wouldn't want to.
What makes RAM a good thing is the fact that it is fast.
Trying to use it over a network would make it slow.
It would be better to increase the amount of virtual memory/swap your system is using. (on most modern consumer operating systems this is dynamic so it won't help)

lol sorry m8 thats a big fat NO. ram must be in the machine that you need it in. only a harddrive can be shared over a network.

NO, because it isn't practical. With Vista, you can use your USB memory stick as additional memory though.

Not that I am aware of...it would be TERRIBLY slow if you did though and would really not make any difference and might actually make your computer slower.
