My Blue Damsel fish had her eggs today on the inside of a shell, but the male isnt looking after them, this is their first batch, does this mean that they are not fertilized? I have a small 5 Gallon aquarium at the ready...should i take them out and put them in there or leave them? or just not bother? I know most of them wont survive anyways, just my first experience with this.
Thanks

Leave them - if they start to get too funky, you can take them out. You may want to look into a sponge filter - if you start it now and built up enough copepods, maybe you'll get a hatch and they'll survive if you get enough small organisms for a food source for them (doubtful, though, as most saltwater fish are difficult to raise but you never know if you don't try).

Leave them in,if the male didn't fertilize them it won't make any difference, and if he did he should have the opportunity "to do the right thing". Also if this is a first spawn there will certainly be others if you just maintain good water quality, etc.----PeeTee

Leave then. The parents are needed to take care of them when they hatch. Sometimes the parents eat the babies in which case you can try to rescue some.
