No. Flint is a hard brittle mineral, not easily worked. Cigarette lighter "flints" are made of powdered iron pyrite, mixed with an adhesive, and molded into a tiny cylinder.

While real flint can be struck with steel to produce a spark, iron pyrite (fool's gold) works better because each spark contains a speck of burning pyrite. It's far easier to start a "survival fire" with pyrite and steel than genuine flint and steel. The sparks are larger, hotter, and there are many times more of them.
