Ok.. so here is the deal. My best friend is "talking" to this guy in the 11th grade. She is only in the 8th. I keep on telling her that she is way too young for this guy, but all she says is "i know". I wanna tell her that in one year it is gonna be illegal for him to date her but I dont know how. I am scared for her if she does go out with him cause knowin he is older like way older, she could get hurt in many ways. I really wanna be happy for her but I just cant find a way to be happy for her. Please give me some advice on this!!

If I were in your place i would explain the consequences that come after something happens between them that could wind up getting him into trouble. Try letting her know that what she is doing is wrong and to try to find someone her age!

You are being the best friend you can- by listening to your heart and trying to do what you can to help her. Obviously she is being taken by this jerk who shouldn't be messing around with a girl her age. He's abusing the situation by being so much older and trying to get her to like him. Let's be honest- why else would a guy by hitting on a girl that young? He obviously can't get a girl his own age so he hits on younger naive girls. It makes your best friend feel pretty amazing because this 'older guy' likes her.

Have you considered talking to your mom about it or is there anyway to talk to HER mom about it? I know that right now it might cause a big problem but in the long run, you're saving her from something that could happen and be really bad. I rather have a friend mad at me than a friend in trouble and being taken advantage of by a nasty creep.

Do what's right. Tell someone who can help you out. If your friend gets mad at you, try to explain why you told someone and that you felt her safety was in jeopardy.

Good luck hun. You're beinga great friend.

If it were me, I would explain that if anything were to happen he could end up going to jail because of her, and then I would ask her if she wanted to risk him going to jail. Because if she cares about him she wouldn't want him to risk that much.

Besides the fact that I don't see an 11th grader giving that kind of attention to an 8th grader nothing really surprises me anymore.
