I have done in the past but as you so rightly say 3 points will make a difference to most people. I bought a new loud speaker blue tooth device today to stop myself ever being tempted. My only argument is how can they police this very needed law, If a cop sees 2 people driving & using the phone how can he stop them both. Does the second person get away with it while the first is punished. The need to stop people from using mobiles whilst driving is a must it will save lives & prevent a lot of crashes, well done for once the government.

Yes I have, and all this fuss over mobile phones is very silly. If you are a competant sensible driver you can hold a phone when driving - just use some common sense like don't get too close to the car in front. Be aware of cars to left and right.
If some people think that they cannot drive safely when on the phone it does make you wonder whether they are able to drive safely when not.

I used to be in the Armoued Corps in the military. I'd drive a tank while taking orders down on a notepad on my lap from over the radio while scanning left right, near, middle, far for bad guys and worrying about my but getting blown off. I think I can handle talking on a cell phone for two minutes while I'm driving a car.

Only when it feels safe enough to do so (light traffic, a road I know well), and I only actually operate it when I know I'm going to be stopped at a signal for at least thirty seconds. As I keep it in my pocket, I can't get to it whilst driving.

Yes but im going to stop... i heard an awful story on the radio today about a lorry driver who was texting on his phone.. didnt realise that the traffic had stopped... and crushed a car... he was that oblivious that he could see another car in front and didnt realise that he had crushed one and it was underneath the lorry... the girl in it died... if that doesnt make us all stop... what will? some really really sad stories

I can say, in all honesty, that I haven't. But then, I don't have a mobile phone and I don't drive.

I always pull over or ignore it. Never remember to switch the thing off when I'm getting in the car.

I don't drive so never, my hubby once in an emergency, he can't afford to lose his licence for the sake of his mobile.
