Try to get some sleep. If the pains continue after you rest for a few hours call your OB. You shouldn't be going into labor quite yet, it's not time. If you start having pains that make you want to slam your fist into the wall and you can't talk then you need to call the dr's office immediately and get to the hospital asap.

When I read the question I figure you were having Braxton Hicks. But then it says more when i walk....

Are you saying when you walk the contractions are stronger?
And if your walking and they get closer together then you could be in early labor.
Do they ever get weaker when you are doing something or laying down? Or even less often? If so then that is not true labor. But still is good because that is the way our bodies get ready for the real thing.

Keep track of the contractions or pains/tightening. If they become constant and less then 10-12 minutes apart call your OB or Midwife.

Congrats on your new baby. Enjoy!!

I'm 36 weeks. I have pretty much the same thing going on you do. My contractions aren't regular though. Her head down, she's dropped and my back is killing me. AND about 1 to 2 times an hour I get a lovely contraction that lasts at least 60 seconds. I just went to the doctor yesterday and I was 1 cm dialated and 60% effaced. What she told me was if my water breaks or my contractions become regular to go to the hospital and have them page her.

One way to tell if you are in true labor is to drink a large amount of water and lie down on your left side and relax. Pay attention to the pains if they continue. If they continue into the night and begin to get closer together or if the pain intensifies you need to get to the hospital. Please do not be worried a full term pregnancy is any birth after 37 weeks. So you could have misjudged your baby's conception date or you baby could be done baking and be ready for it's mommy to cuddle him. Please believe that everything is going to be okay. Just pay attention to your body if it starts telling you something is wrong do not hesitate and get to the hospital. God bless and good luck!

Sounds like braxton hicks to me. Unless contractions start coming in a sequence, i wouldn't worry. Try to rest.

If the pain is unbearable i'd go to the hospital. They'll monitor you for a little while, probably give you some medicine and send you home. But if you think you're in labor they usually won't admit you until your water breaks.
