Well my boyfriend and I were friends for a long time before we started going out.

Within the first month or so, he asked me to marry him... and he continued asking me. I always said yes. ♥

We've been together for more than a year now. We don't plan on getting OFFICIALLY engaged until like 2 years from now. Because that is when it will be closer to when we can actually get married. We want to get married after we're done with college and after we find good jobs.

I had a feeling that he was going to propose within the 2 weeks before Valentine's Day two years ago. No major reason, just a feeling I had. We always loved going to the zoo. So, we drove 20 miles away to this zoo we frequented and right there in front of the spider monkeys, he put his around around me and goes, "I got my monkeys, I got my girl and now I'm going to ask my girl to marry me." He pulls out this box. All I kept thinking was, 'open it, open it'. I told him "yes, of course", then he opened the box! Holy cow. He had asked me two months prior what kind of ring I liked, I told him a princess cut with two other princess cut diamonds on the side. This ring was huge! It was so much bigger than I was looking at in the store. He's always been good with picking out jewelry for me. :) We loved the zoo so much we got married there last August. You'll have your romantic/engagement story one of these days!

My husband at the time boyfriend took a trip to Escanaba, MI with my son and I to visit one of my sons friends. When my son was staying with his friend on a camping trip we thought we would experience Escanaba. We drove all day just having fun stopping at different shops and going on a glass boat to see the sunken ships. We were driving down the road when all of a sudden he slammed on the brakes through the car in reverse and we turned into a parking lot where out about a mile there was a red light house. I was really excited because I really wanted to see one. We both walked out there. The lake's water was hitting the rocks and we were getting sprayed by it, it was a awesome view too. We were able to go right up the the light house so I went up the stairs to the front door and I turned around so my boyfriend (at the time, now husband) could take my picture. He took about 4 to 5 pictures and I finally told him enough already now its your turn. He started walking up the stairs to hand me the camera and on the last stair he tripped and I was asking him if he was alright. He looked up at me with a ring box in his hand and asked "Will you marry me" I was speechless. I began to cry with excitement and I said yes. That was the best day I had every had.
:::::sorry it was so long:::::

My boyfriend asked me to meet him at home for lunch, said he had a surprise for me. When I got there he handed me a suitcase. I was a little thrown off, but thanked him. He told me to look inside and there was a puppy! (I love dogs). I jumped around and giggled and was gushing about the little guy. He told me to go get a towel cause the pup needed a bath. When I got back to our room with the towel he was on one knee, ring in hand. I was so shocked I almost dropped my puppy! Of course I said YES!!! We've been married for 3 yrs. this April.

I was sooo excited! I was 8 months pregnant, and I was huge I might add. It was Christmas morning, and I had two gifts from my boyfriend. I opened the one, and it was this really cute sweater, and I thought oh he did really good this year. So i opened the secone present, and he went upstairs to the "bathroom", and it was a shoebox with my old slippers in it, and a box inside the slipper. and I opened the box and there was nothing in it, and I was a little mad and confused (cause I hate games) and then he came downstairs with the ring, got down on his knee in front of my entire family and asked me to marry him. It was amazing, and I was in my pajamas, it was cute!

I was more surprised that excited, then I was scared. I knew that I loved him, but I was only 20 and I was afraid of making a mistake. I kept thinking to myself that this was not for now, but it was forever eternity. I never knew anyone that was divorced, so I thought in terms of life and eternity. I was scared, but my faith in the love for him over shadowed everything else. I was relaxed on the day of our wedding, because I knew I was making the right decision. That was over 26 years ago, I never doubted my love for him or his for me. I was lucky because he knew it right from the start.

I was pregnant, so kinda saw it coming. But i was dissapointed in the way he did it. At the dinner table with his family, people I barely knew. We lived a 6 hour drive from his family, so very rarely saw them. I guess I just had something more personal and romantic in mind when I pictured my engagement.

I was so overwhelmed - I knew he had asked my dad for permission the week before, but I had no idea when it would happen.
it was perfect! when I walked into the room and saw the ring box, and he got down on one knee, I crumbled! I had to lean on him, and when he put the ring on my finger, I fell flat on my butt! I couldn't believe it was all happening, I started to cry...it just didn't feel real. I couldn't even remember what he said, but I just keep saying yes, yes, yes!!!
yay

To be honest, when my fiancee proposed I knew he was going to do it, we had talked about it and even went ring shopping together. When he finally proposed was when I found a ring I liked. Sometimes it's not as exciting as everyone thinks it is.
