The implication in your statement is that a person does better by not waiting. Which is patently absurd. Can you imagine a person who NEVER waited for anything?
Yes, if you wait in line at the bagel counter, your favourite bagel may be sold out by the time you get to the front of the cue. On the other hand, if you muscle in front of other people in line, you are likely not only to not get ANY bagel, but a fight instead.
I usually say something that is almost the opposite. If you can't wait for something, then you don't really want it. Most of us experience passions and temptation, yet to surrender heedlessly to such things is only to invite ruin. It is only by waiting that you can really understand yourself and truly be empowered. A child must have immediate rewards; the wisest (and most patient) man can undertake a project that won't be completed for a thousand years.

"those who wait get good things, but those who take get better things, can anybody argue that!?"
This is a terrible misunderstanding. Those who wait get nothing and those who take, lose the best of what life has to offer. If you wait around expecting the world to throw its treasure into your lap then you will believe the world has no treasures for you. If you take what another person has to give than you lose out in the feeling that comes over you when someone appreciates you enough to give you something. That feeling is love, and no sports car or amount of money can compare to it. Because there is nothing that you can "take" that stays with you once you leave your physical body. Therefor any taking you do is meaningless and self-destructive.

Those who take have to live with the pain of knowing they didn't earn what they got and someone else had to suffer loss on their behalf. People who wait around don't get good things, they need to directly work towards the getting things they want. But people who give to and care for others will have the most joy in life. As long as you believe all happiness comes from getting better things, you will never be happy, regardless of whether you take those things, work for them, or just wait around hoping.

There is some middle ground here....
The addage, 'good things come to those who wait' is a good one, I suppose. But I'm an action person, and have a difficult time with patience. Therefore, waiting around for 'what I want' is never an option. But that doesn't mean that I 'take' things. That is presuming - as I read it - dishonesty.
I prefer to think of 'making things happen' instead of waiting around...

In taking you don't always get the right thing... *rape, Burglers...etc*.. anyways... Bad things can happen when you just take. true happiness doesn't lie in the taking but in the recieving. Those that Wait and appericaite the happiness in life will recieve things far better than the "better things" people take...

[23:112] 'I have rewarded them this day for their patient endurance; they are, indeed, the ones who have achieved bliss.'
[30:61] So be thou patient. Surely, the promise of God is true; and let not those who have no certainty of faith hold thee in light estimation so as to move thee from the stand thou hast taken.

I'll agree in the short run, but those who take usually end up caught and have nothing.

Good things happen over time, but great things happen all at once, so I agree.
