Hi!

DON'T TOUCH THE COMPUTER!!!!

Everytime you use the computer, you run the risk of them being overwritten.

You will need to download this software:

http://www.softperfect.com/products/filerecovery/

When you run it, it will ask you where you want to search.

Click the drop-down arrow and say the "C:" drive, or whatever drive you had them on.

You can also search for ".jpg" in the "What" box as this will make the search faster and easier for you. That is assuming the pictures were actually .jpg and not .gif for example?

You then click on the green triangular "Search" button and it will try and recover them for you.

Even when you delete something, even from the recycle bin, you do not really delete it, just tell the computer that the space on the disk can be used again.

So software like this can find the files as long as another program has not written over them yet!

The program is free.

You can click on my icon and e-mail me if you have any questions and I will try to help if I can.

I really hope you can get them back - Good luck!!!

Sheryl ... Try to stop using that computer system; you don't want the computer to re-use the area on your hard drive where those photos were stored.

If the files are in your Recyle Bin, it should be easy to recover them. If they're not there, your chances of getting them back are much, much lower. But there STILL may be some hope.

Go to my link below and this might help. It's free, too. However, to run it, you'd have to install it, I presume, and the more writing you do, the worse your file recovery efforts will be.

Good luck, Sheryl.

If they are not located in your Recycle Bin on the desktop then...

Download File Scavanger - it will search for files that you have deleted off of your hard drive. There may be a small fee for the program, I don't remember... but I have used the program to recover lost files.

Here is a free demo download if you want to try it:

Check the trash/recycle icon on your desktop. Even though you deleted them, they may be still sitting in there. If they are still there, select them and right lclick and the hit restore.

If you've emptied the trash, I think you may try some of the ideas above.

Norton Utilities in case you haven't any longer any further re-formatted the cardboard. it must be available at your public library or from a buddy. or you should possibly acquire a loose trial from Norton. do no longer write something to it indoors the intervening time!

If you have a norton protected recycle bin - maybe u can use norton to rescue them, else they are lost.
Always backup monthly to avoid such things
