they have their team down packed. they like all the players and they don't think they need to add anyone else. and no cap room.

Can't say it any better than: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." No player was worth going after because the Devils would have to give up too much to get him. Also, cap space is limiting the Devils severely. Too bad the Devils didn't trade Colin White, he's so horrible and he gets paid $3 Million a year. That would have opened up enough space to bring back 2 Richard Matvichuks.

They had to do a lot to sign Gionta. Mogilny had to retire so they can afford Brian. So if they traded they would have to trade salary for salary.
most teams trade young players for veterans, but they could not and stay under the cap!
Be happy, I am a ducks fan and they did nothing to really improve for this year! They traded a D-man for a #1 pick and picked up Brad may.
Hardly an improvement to keep up with the sharks predators and red wings!

They sent David Hale to Calgary for a draft pick. They don't have many needs and even less cap space. Their playoff squad is set.

LOL - no cap room - think they may still be over with current roster - Devils still have hockey's biggest money goalie - they can get two rounds as they are
