jimmy n,

i can tell you with 100% CERTAINTY, you are being SCAMMED.

go here and ask this question if you don't believe me:

http://forums.ebay.com/db2/forum.jspa?forumID=107

that link is to ebays Trust and Safety Board AKA Safe Harbor.

there is no such thing as SAFE HARBOUR!

you should NEVER, EVER, EVER send WESTERN UNION! it is stated on EVERY auction!

if you do this, you will lose your money!

report the ID to ebay, along with any EMAILS this scammer has sent you! do it NOW!!

the ONLY SAFE way to pay for an ebay purchase is through PAYPAL funded by a CREDIT CARD!

I think something may be up here, Ebay is part of the same company as Paypal, so they encourage all Ebay users to use Paypal, then they get the fees twice over. Western Union is a very risky way to send money, many of the various countries where one can send money via WU are not as hot on security, for example, here in Spain, not only do we have to show a passport to collect, but to send also, whereas in the UK, no evidence is asked of ID to send....I also know, and have experienced, sending some funds via WU, they are collected and thats the end of it, nothing gets sent, and this is so very common when sending to Eastern European countries.......unless oyu know the person you are sending to, I wouldnt send any funds via WU, there are no come backs....

Hi,
Definately DON'T use Western Union, anyone who asks for Western Union payment is going to scam you.
The best place to ask for advice on anything Ebay is on the Community boards, theres a question and answer forum and the guys on there give you honest - and fast replies.

:-)

Safeharbor is a part of eBay, but I have seen several fruadlent emails that use their name. Never, never, never provide any information to emails claiming to be from Safeharbor. Only change your info by logging directly into eBay or PayPal (and dont use the link in a suspect email).

Its called phishing. People use emails like this to try to get unsuspecting people to provide thier user account information and their bank and credit card info, and in some cases to send them money.
