I never have used google, but a few times. I prefer http://info.com/
This is a meta search engine, it searches 14 of the top search engines and gives no more than 3 pages of the most relevant results. I dont think I have ever had to go past the first page when searhing......and I have never had any popup issues with this search engine.

Gators ... You may have a virus. However, if these pop-ups occur only when you search for something via Google, can I dare to suggest that you try to search via Yahoo instead?

You need a pop-up blocker (like yahoo toolbar), and/or download and run AdAware, which will remove that junk.
