He's the king of all kings of cheap shots in the NFL. His back problems are Karma for sure!

Todd Bertuzzi is just unlucky. He's no more or less a punk than any other player.

Time will tell if it is a perfect match but on the surface it sure looks good. The Wings need a punk to keep the cheap shot artists on other teams from attacking Datsyuk or Zetterberg (which makes most of them ball-less punks as well). He needs to prove the back is healthy and his mind is right but if he returns to any sembalance of form then it will be a match made in heaven for the Wings. They badly need a tough winger and now they have obtained 2 (Bertuzzi and Calder) for basically Jason Williams and conditional picks. If he doesnt pan out the Wings will owe very little, if he does help them in a big way it costs them a 1st rounder. They rarely ever keep their 1st round pick anyways as the scouting unearths gems pretty deep in every draft. His presence will give more room during the playoffs to Datsyuk and Zetterberg, something they never got much of last year so on that merit alone it was a great gamble and considering what other teams paid to get their additions the Wings get better without mortgaging the future (thats why they stay on top...smart management!)

I would have rather had the Red Wings get Ryan Smyth from Edmonton, but Bertuzzi is a good pickup. If his back holds up, it could be a perfect match.

I hope he doesn't become another Krupp! Another big goon near the end of his career surgery hasn't skated in months may be ready for playoffs but for how long? I to think he is a punk for what he did but to call a skilled TEAM like the RED WINGS punks is just making your self out to be a punk as well you probably root for a team that keeps losing to the wings .Hockey is a rough sport and things happen that shouldn't happen that was one of them.I too think he may be the type of player we need to replace BIG MAC.but I wish we would have made a better choice in SMYTH or FORSBERG.

On paper it looks great and gives them a nice chance to compete in the playoffs if he gets and stays healthy

But as a fan of the Red Wings I don't like it I've never liked the guy and I've said for a few years he is one of the few players that I would boo if he ever appeared in a Wings Jersey and I'll stick to that if i make it to a game this year

This is awsome. He will add some badly needed to toughness to the Wings making them a very good team that will have to contended with in the playoffs.

I don't know. Bertuzzi might look quite good out there with Datsuyk and Zetterberg.

Wow, he looks like a cool addition to the red wings.

NHL dearie....I think that Florida is glad to be rid of him but I'll tell you one thing, if he is healthy in the playoffs he will help Detroit WIN the cup...

Don't get all giddy. His problematic back goes with him.
Not to mention he'll be rusty as all hell whenever he decides he wants to play. He's been out since NOVEMBER!
