How can I know wether a laptop I purchased has been used or not?

Can I find in the registry or elsewhere the date of the first use?Can't this date be delited should the drives be formatted?

if it is a Dell laptop you can check the warranty status on the website, or you can even call most manufacturers to determine the warranty status of most laptops.

if the hard drive was formatted and reinstalled then unless you do the above you wont know.
