NOt necessarily.
The time after ovulation and before the next period is called the luteal phase. It is normally 12-16 days long. Some women experience a short luteal phase (10-12 days is borderline and less than 10 days is usually too short to sustain a pregnancy) even though they may have very regular cycles. Cycles can vary in the preovulatory phase, but vary little during the luteal phase.
The best way for you know know about your cycle is to chart your fertility signs. Your chart can tell you when you are fertile, when you are not, when you are ovulating, when to expect your next period, and when to suspect pregnancy. Your chart can also tell you if there are issues delaying conception or causing difficulty w/ carrying a pregnancy and if there are serious issues which need a doc's attention.
Some good sources for charting your fertility signs: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software), The Art of Natural Family Planning, and Garden of Fertility

No. It depends on how long your cycle is. An "average" cycle s 28 days and you ovulate in the middle which would be the 14th day and would mean you get your next period 14 days after that. If you had a 32 day cyle you would ovulate around the 16th day after the first day of your last period and would likely start your next period 16 days after you ovulate. Does that make sense? If you are concerned about pregnancy take an early results home test (like First Response) b/c they detect lower levels of hormone and can tell you sooner. Best WIshes! (oh & some women ovulate at different times than in the middle of their cycle or ovulate twice a cycle but this isn't common.)

generally ovulation occurs 12-15 days before your next period some women feel it they cramp and some spot brown and pind discharge. another way to tell is to check your basal tempature when you first wake up without to much moving and eating. then when it spikes up a little then your ovulating. or buy ovulation kits.
