i have a 90 toyota pickup and sometimes when i start it the starter keeps spinning sometimes i have to take the key out for it to stop, is this from the starter solenoid or it is the from the key ignition

its usually the soleniod on the starter thats sticking that causes that

Sounds like it is the ignition switch. if it was the solenoid - turning off the key would not stop it. Have someone get on it with a voltmeter and see what it is doing.
i once had a starter stick on on a loud motorcycle. i rode it 15 miles until the battery was completely dead from spinning the starter. didn't hurt the starter since it was not under load.

IF IT STOPS WHEN YOU TAKE THE KEY OUT IT'S MORE THAN LIKELY THE IGNITION.
