Worst Movie of 2006!

The original is considered a classic, but I have to admit, I JUST saw it after wanting to for a long time and Blech! Who thought it would be a good idea to make a drop dead serious horror musical!!!!??? It's one of maybe 5 cases that I think the remake was better. There were elements of the original I liked better: tricking the sacrifice into wearing the fool costume (a bear? come on!), and I loved the juxtaposition of extremely devout Christianity to extreme devout serious nutcase religion: it shows the futility of both. The new one had a lot of great elements like the twist that it was his daughter. (come on did that really surprise anybody?) It was an interesting addition. The framing of the inherent damage of sexism BOTH ways was interesting...
But yes, it sucked.

I hope not, I just rented it yesterday and I am going to watch it tonight.
On IMBD (imbd.com) if you go to the discussion board for Wicker Man pretty much everyone though it was terrible. They said it was the worst acting by Nicholas Cage, and some parts were so bad it was funny.

Hey, watched it last night and found it really boring and wierd. Not at all what I expected! Boo! The end sucked, the middle was really boring and it really didn't conclude anything or explain all the weirdos. Poor choice for Nic Cage.

Yeah, it definitely has to be the worst movie I have watched in a while and most definitely the worst movie by Nicolas Cage.

funny you should say that. I didn't see the original, so I had no idea of the ending. When it was over I felt that I had wasted 2 hours of my life-I was expecting this redeeming ending but it was a huge letdown. come on nick cage!

I thought it was the worst movie ever. I only stayed to see what became of Rowan. They threw together all the hilarious unintentional scenes fromit on Youtube and its actually funny.

OMG so disappointed!!! I wanted to see it so bad when it first came out and had to wait and rented it w/ high expectations, and it was so so awful Nick Cage rocks and i thinks that's why my anticipation was so high. I just can't even begin on why it was so bad it just is.... Man so disappointed!

It was so disappointing- I kept thinking something more would happen- a weird build up. I counted on Nick Cage, and it was just a flub.

I'd have to agree, it was boring and pointless. The original was better than the remake, even though I found the original boring as well *lol*
