Its definatly alive and when i poke him he turns over and swims normally, Ive tried the pea remedy and he spat it out! :-)

It may not be your fault but it's definitely due to wrong feed being fed to it, usually from inferior fish food that bloated in their stomach!
When this happen, if you still want to keep it alive & Healthy, you have to give it a go for different diet. More Vegetables, less commerical fish patlet that float! Goldfish are ominvoviours, they can take chopped vegetables, like lettuce and garlic(in small amount).. It may take from 2 weeks - months for it to be cure (provided his stomach is not already malfunctions)

It's not. A healthy goldfish doesn't swim around belly up. You have a sick goldfish. If you would like to post some more details maybe we can help you figure out what is wrong and what if anything can be done about it.

I've heard about the pea remedy. It was on the news even, fish they thought was dead was given smashed pea and lives!

Sounds like a swim bladder problem.
Try feeding it a frozen pea thawed out with the top layer "skin" removed. Feed this daily until he is better. It will remove excess gas

Are you sure that he is alive? How old is he? If he is a live.is this a new behavior, or just something he likes to do? Kinda weird.
I would be worried that he was getting sick.
