Does this question really need to be asked? If anyone answers other than Tomlinson, they either don't pay attention to football or they are too stubborn to admit that their guy isn't #1. I personally am a Larry Johnson fan, but I know that Tomlinson is the better running back.

I'm not sure how these other people that are writing the lists of the top RB are leaving LJ off.

I know everybody says LT and yes he has the stats to prove that, but look at clinton portis great runner, receiver and even joe gibbs says hes one of the toughest guys he's ever seen. in his first 2 seasons with denver he was one of the only players to get at least 1500 yds back to back seasons. now hes with the skins , and their OL is always getting hurt if the skins line stays healthy and if portis doesnt get hurt trying to take somebodys head off when hes trying to tackle, i think he would be the best

Did you even have to ask that question? The obvious answer is LT, he broke the touchdown record last year, and he's been a great running back for at least the last few years.

The best RB NO doubt is Ladanian Tomlinson...he broke 9,000 yards faster than any other RB ever, including Walter Payton,Emitt Smith, and Barry Sanders. He holds the record for most TDs in a season, and for God sakes he is ONLY 6 YEARS INTO THE BUSINESS!!!!!! I guarantee by the time he is 13 years pro, he will have run for 2,000 yards once, and he WILL HAVE THE RECORD FOR RUSHING YARDS AND TDs...Watch. sblast1919..ur an IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!

It is not LT, any RB could of put up those numbers with that team, I used to thinks it was tiki simply because of his all around skills, but he is no longer. So I would have to go with Steven Jackson, he's in a pass happy offense, but still put up HUGE numbers on the ground and He was the only other RB to receive MVP votes. He can run, catch, he's huge and only getting better

As for current stats, you have to say LT. But, I'm going to step out on a limb and say that everyone needs to watch out for Joseph Addai! He is a great combination of speed, power, awareness, agility, pass-receiving skill, and he's learning to block better with the type of offense that the Colts run. Look out...........

LJ by far because look what he did behind a hurt offensive line, if he had a team like LT he would of put up by far better numbers than he did this season

LT. He can run, catch, and even throw. Then I say LJ, he did much by carrying the offensive scheme on his back and rushed 100 yards game so many.
