Parrots do cost QUITE a bit of money, but look at this from the bigger picture. Not only do they cost a lot of money to purchase they cost to maintain. Do you really have the time to dedicate to feeding, caring for and keeping the wings clipped so it won't fly away? If you answer no to any one of those then you really should do without the parrot.
