Dr. Seuss (Theodor S. Geisel) never won, nor was ever nominated, or an Oscar.

He did, however, write the original story for "Gerald McBoing-Boing" (1950) which was adapted by Phil Scott and Gerald Eastman. It won in the category "Best Short Subject, Cartoons" in 1951. The Oscar was awarded to its producer, Stephen Bosustow.

Dr. Seuss won two Emmy awards: one for "The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat" (1982) (TV); the other for "Halloween Is Grinch Night" (1977) (TV).
