I just started watching this infant who has acid reflex. This baby has not stopped crying since I got him (5:30 am and its now 1:55pm) He did stop for a few min. here and there, when I held him or took him for a walk. I have other daycare kids and I cannot be holding him all day. I gave him gas medicine and tylonal/oregel since he is also teething and I am not sure what else I can do. I have been playing with him, put him in his saucer and swing...nothing works. He is 5 months old and just MISSERABLE! Right now he is napping...thats another thing, he naps for like 30 min at a time, at the most. This poor baby and I do not know how to deal with him. Any advise? he seems very colicky.

Sometimes it's really hard to deal with colicky infants, but colick usually goes away by 4 months. It really just may be teething, and sometimes, nothing will help. Try a cold (but not frozen) teething ring, and try and keep him occupied. Good luck.

You need to suggest that the parents contact their doctor. A child with acid reflux should not be screaming all day from it, usually only during and after their feeds are they really fussy.
Sometimes babies with acid reflux can get alot of ear infections so that could be going on. The kid needs meds for his reflux or a formula change, suggest a doctor visit if these issues are not addressed.
Generally they only like to be held upright and you can't do that all day, so have the parents check with their doctor.

I don't think it;s colic since that ends at about 3 months. The baby just seems like he's going trough alot right now and is very frustrared. Just in case talk to the baby's mother and let her know so they can rule out anything medical.

My baby was also diagnosed with Reflux. Our doctor put her on a child dosage of Zantac to soothe the pain. It only helped a little. The only thing that helped my daughter was to be swaddled tight and put in her swing. I think it helped by putting pressure on her tummy. She is almost 4 years old now, but it was a rough 6 months of Colic for us. It will get better, but I feel your pain!!

Please try taking the baby to a good Chiropractor. I know many women that do for a variety of reasons. It really does help. I know it sounds odd, but they really can help with alot of different problems. Give the baby some relief. And yourself too. Make sure to find one that has treated (adjusted) babies before. Talk to the Dr. before you go and make sure he knows exactly what the baby is doing. He may suggest you bring the baby in when he is tired or asleep so that he is relaxed as possible.

Stop babysitting for the child. The mom has to know this child is colicky. Got a dryer? DON'T PUT THE CHILD IN IT!!! but put him in a car seat or a bouncy seat and turn it on and see if that helps. Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't.
