I was really close to my friend then she met this married man and went to live with him. I dont know why but she seems to think that I have tried to run their life together, I have only seen this man twice. What they are doing is a hate campaign against me, the things they are saying are TOTALLY UNTRUE. It breaks my heart the friendship as completely gone, but how do I stop the lies. Only sensible answers please, I am too upset for stupid comments.

Just leave her be and don't stress yourself. If she's acting like that, like a jealous woman, then you should forget about her. She's obviously not a true friend.

Having recently dealt with that sort of hurtful vindictiveness- I know the lies were told for an under-hand motive (so you need to ask yourself, what does your ex-friend gain by doing that??),
the personality change was due to alcohol & jealously + wierd, mixed-up feelings of rejection + grievances cos I wouldn't play along (although I had gone out of my way to be nice & helpful etc).
I cured the problem (as far as I know), by keeping a list, with dates, of incidents etc., & then via legal people using that to make a sworn statement as evidence.
That has actually stopped all the hassle caused to me & my family over the past 2 years (fingers crossed - long may the peace last!)
Good luck with your situation- not pleasant- just stay away & don't trust that sort of back-stabber.

Hi there sorry to hear about this. This is not a friend, you need to talk to her face to face and him if you can be strong enough for it. Its going to be hard but its the best way. Once you have chatted about it get her to tall everyone that she has been lying about you. It could be that he has made her think things. She should not be with a married man as that is worse, if she does not like your views about her relationship and just understand what you are saying then its up to her but she is not a friend to you. I would talk to her and sort it out then let her be.
Good luck and dont worry too much.

He's probably complaining about your presence as he's a control freak and wants to control her, as no doubt she's young and probably pretty so if he poisons her mind against you then she's left with no close friend then eventually no friends at all and he'll have her at his beck and call, but if you try telling her that she'll dislike you even more so be careful of the pitfalls, you see it every day on daytime tv.. so they tell me.

Some friend. what she is doing is putting her guilt on to you, and what have you got to feel guilty of. Just forget her and get on with your life She is not a friend. She has committed a sin by splitting up a marriage, a common sl**, I wouldn't want to be labelled with that would you? Stay out of her way. She ain't worth it.

She either thinks that your after her man or she has deep insecurities. Some people are just perpetual liars to and really get off on doing so. I would just forget about her and move on.

Are you active at church? If you can't trust people within the congregation who can you trust?? I would start coffee clutching with one of them or just start talking to the ladies at church in your age group.

That kind of thing happened to me once with a girl I used to be best friends with. I just had to stop all communication with her. I'm better off without people like that in my life. You know who your true friends are!!! Don't worry about her.

If this friend of yours is telling so many lies about you than I think that you should find a new friend. There are many friends who will appreciate you for what you are.

Whoever is telling these tales back to you, tell them to let her know you would like to meet her for a coffee,as you would like to put your points forward.Sounds like she has a guilty conscience and trying to get rid of it by badmouthing you. Keep your head held high.Best wishes
