Freedom of speech is fastly becoming a thing of the past. We have to watch more than our P's and Q's these days - we have to approach everything with caution as not to leave a loop hole so that nobody is offended. It is not a case of live and let live anymore - more you will do as I say (I - being some smart alec in the powers that be) - who think or assume they can speak for the whole of the UK when they enforce yet another PC thing - abreviated as I am so tired of the whole thing personally.

Freedom of Speech does have it's limitations. You can say whatever you want, so long as you aren't making stuff up to purposely harm another person.
However, keep in mind that there are consequences for all actions. You have every right to say things that will offend other people. And they have every right to complain about it. You will need to be the judge as to whether your words will hurt someone, and if it's worth it.

You have the freedom to say anything you want as long as it dosent offend anyone. So we don't have any freedom of speech there is just a lot of people that are tricked into thinking we do.

Unfortunately freedoms, as defined by the First Amendment, Second Amendment, etc., only apply at the Federal government level. The States have been taking away our rights for a very long time.

You got that right! You can have "freedom of speech" but it has to be "politically correct" which means our rights to that freedom are gradually being taken away because you are being restricted in your choice of words every time you express yourself. Check out Glen Beck on the CNN Headline channel sometime. He hates "Political Correctness" and isn't.

It means that, within reasonable bounds, you are free to say what you want. But if you say things that are false and damage a person's reputation, or shout 'fire' in a crowded theater your speech is not protected. One of the most important aspects of free speech is that we can criticize our government.
