I am on O2 Pay and go, and I got my number and credit, as well as my free monthly allowances and bolt ons transferred from my 2g sim onto the 3g sim that came with the phone, but when my phone was stolen I was sent only a 2g sim, however, i had gone off a 3g onto a 2g.
phone orange, avoiding any 0870 or 0901/0906 numbers, and ask them.

You can transfer between any network, pay as you go or contract, as long as you get a PAC number from your current provider you have 30 days to then use this to transfer your number before it expires and you need to get another one. 3G is just a new technology so you can change to it very easily.

Yes you can.
Contact your current service prodiver and get a PAC code. Give this to your new service provider and it will transfer in 7 calendar days (as a norm)
