i have a DSL modem/router, its a 2wire home portal 1000HG, can it be used as a router for a dial up connection? to get more than 1 PC online with dial up. i have heard its possible........ty

It's possible to share a dial-up connection, but not with the 1000HG device.

not sure why you would want to but yes

it would involve you using a pc 9pc1)with a v.90/92 modem and network card connected to the router and then telling pc2 to use pc1 as a gateway. pc2 would not be able to initiate the dial up connection. (the modem would simply be a conduit)

alternatively two cross wired pc.s could use ics (internet connection sharing)
