It seems to me that a man with a photographic memory would remember when he arrived at a victim's home! Even if he didn't get it quite right a time difference of 4 hours is hard to swallow. Not to mention that he was about to recant his confession when he was killed!

This is a very confusing case! There are theory's for and against him being the murderer. The murders stopped when he was arrested.Maybe the real murderer died at the same time he was arrested for the crimes.I do believe that he was mentally ill.I really am not sure!

Short answer is yes. Long answer is, probably, but we will not know for certain. There are problems with De Salvo's story, but considering the amount of attention that his case has garnered, it is most unlikely that he was a patsy or a wannabe who took the blame for someone else.

He was mentally ill, if I recall reading, but the murders did seem to STOP when the cops got hold of him.

Doubtful he did it, probably just a patsy for the police so the hysteria would go away.
