Have a ton of rings and pendants. Too many to bring to a jeweler for appraisals. I know I have rubies, emeralds, blue topaz and jade. Does anyone know where I would go to have someone buy these from me. Not interested in doing e-bay. Most of these rings and pendants are home shopping club purchases, if that helps. Will keep some, but there are so many I couldn't possibly wear them all in my lifetime.
Any help would be appreciated.

I know there are some places that recycle gold and stones and what not. It didn't cost me anything. I just gave them some scrap gold and I got about $20 out of it. They also told me how much some of my other jewelery was worth, even though I wasn't selling it to them. They told me what was costume jewelery and what was real, and it didn't cost me a thing. I'm sure if you search/look/ask around you'll find a little independently owned place like that. There's bound to be one around you. Hope that helps!

What do you mean there are too many to bring to a jewelry appraiser? Come on, put them in a duffle bag or suitcase (there cannot be more than would fit in a suitcase) and bring them to a qualified appraiser. That is really the only way. Often, those HSN pieces are not worth what they claim on the show, and not nearly as much as you might think.

Does it really matter how much they are worth? If you didn't pay for them yourself, any anount of money that you fetch with them is a profit.

A jewellery appraiser will give you the closest approximation of worth. But it will probably cost you something to get that appraisal.

So, unless you truly believe that they are VERY valuble, maybe you should go to a pawn shop. You'll probably not get top dollar, but you'll at least have money, instead of a pile of jewellery that you may never wear...

Take the jewels to an appraiser... talk to your insurance company. They can recommend someone to you.
You can sell the pieces to some jewellers, but they probably won't give you a really good price for them... best bet is to sell them on ebay, but put a reserve on them.
Good luck.

You have to get them appraised....the best way is with a reputible jeweler.....really.....they will usually do it for no or little cost and most importantly you don't want to give the stuff away for less than it is worth......really....it is worth the trip and the $ so you don't get ripped off......

There are reputable jewelers who will come to you for appraisals. Check with those that specialize in estate jewelry.

Take them to a jeweler.. bit by bit. Make little trips, even go to a few different ones?
