if i put the fuse in the lights stay on... indefinitely. and no matter where i put the switch or how hard (or soft) i shut the door i can't get them to go off, also i've tried looking for the usual button that sticks out when you close your door to trigger your lights to turn off and i can't find it. if you have any help let me know. thanks.

this one i can help you with. the switch for the interior light is located on the inside of the door panel. where the locking mechanism is for the door. i have replace many many of these things. its just a little bitty thing. you can pick one up at parts stores or dealership. dont take that long to change them out either.

No longer a pillar botton its in the door latch Pull the door panel and look for the connection

You have a short circuit somewhere...probably where the button is...it could be bad.
