I was reported yesterday for a tos violation. I'm unable to rewrite my statement. But the gist of it was that when people break our laws that makes them criminals and we shouldn't cater to them when it comes to language. I was unaware that truth had become hate speech simply because it was not politically correct. How do you define hate speech and am I guilty.

If you used the "W" word or the "S" word to describe these "illegals", I'm not surprised.

I personally don't have a definition for Hate Speech. Laws against emotions have no place in a "free" society. With that said, this is a private community, of which you're a voluntary member. The "hate speech" violation isn't relavent...someone simply disagreed with your stance and looked for any excuse to silence you. You have to learn how to play their game if you want to play in the sandbox.

If you learn nothing else, know Yahoo will yank pretty much ANY question or answer if someone complains, as long as there's the slightest chance it broke one of their extremely touchy-feely guidelines.

Edit: I think one of the previous answers nailed it...and the shoe fits.

I have no definition of hate speech for you. But what your statement insinuates is that all Spanish-speaking people in this country are illegal aliens and therefore, criminals.

If that was what you meant to say, then, I would consider that a bigoted and prejudiced statement. If it isn't what you meant, then you should state your idea differently because that is how it sounds.

If you made a negative comment about a specific race, then it can be considered hate speech. Did you single out a race? A nationality?

hate speech is when you directly or indirectly advocate or condone violence. if you say i hate women that is not hate speech but if you say would'nt it be great if someone killed all the women. of course the interpretation of what incites or promotes violence is also up to debate. I don"t believe you are guilty of hate speech. keep up the good fight.
