I have a neighbor that lives in my development and I always got the impression that she never liked me. At first I thought it was my imagination, but as time went on she would always go out of her way for other neighbors and other things she would do to annoy me (too long to list). Anyway she can be very charming with the people she likes and is considered the "Martha Stewart" of the neighborhood. But she can also be a bit obnoxious and overbearing (annoying extrovert). I consider myself a pretty nice and loyal individual. I always tried to be very nice to her but after a while I gave up and just concentrated to the ones that make me happy. I just found out from a neighbor who I like very much that when she first moved into the neighborhood she tried to "poison" her mind about me. I was taken aback. There is one thing about not liking a person but to talk crap about you when you never even did anything to them is quite scary. Should I just confront her or should I just ignore.

IGNORE!!!!!!!

Try to paint a REALISTIC picture in your mind of what "confrontation" will produce...

All this time when you WERE ignorant of what she was saying, your behaviour still attracted people's friendship, or at least friendly overtures. It's where you need to stay!!!

I found out a long time ago it;s best not to get too involved with ur neighbors. It's ok to say " Hi, Good Morning" to them but other then that it's just best to steer clear of them.

I would say to ignore it unless it gets to b 2 much. And always remember in the future to just smile and keep walking, if u get to know them make it clear that u rather keep it on a hi how are ya thing and that it;s.

Never let them know ur business because it will get around

I have had the same problem with a so called friend of mine. I would confront her by saying something like this. I just wanted you to know that someone came up to me and said that you had been talking about me. I didn't want to listen to what they were saying because I hate gossip and rumors. I appreciate your friendship and just wanted you to know that if you ever had a problem with me you could come to me about it and I will always do the same for you.

If I were you and I have been in that situation... we all have... I would just leave it alone for now. Let her talk all the crap she wants because even though she may not realize it and it may not seem like it shes hurting herslef not you. No one wants to be around someone wh talks bad about everyone else.
