depends on the situation, I'm sure if your body is close to, or if you have already started dialating, he woould probably recommend walking, or perhaps ask if he will strip your membranes. Walking walking walking made it happen for me. Go to the store and walk like its the last time you're ever gonna do it:D

Not long answered your other question! You must be feeling the strain!
As far as I know then you won't be induced at 39 weeks unless there are signs of feotal distress or danger for the mother.
I know you must be in a lot of discomfort but it is short term. Try to rock your hips around and around to help ease the pressure, getting on all fours is another good position to help get baby in the right place and ease the pressure. I loved the birthing ball at the hospital - you could just sprawl over it! Kneeling over the edge of the bed or chair with a few cushions to support is just as good. Or get a kitchen chair and sit the wrong way round - John Wayne style. That really helped with my discomfort with the 3rd one. It really opens up the pelvis and takes the strain.
When you do go into labour then try to keep as upright as you can so gravity can help with baby.
Try and get some rest just now too. If you are going into labour then you will need as much energy as you can muster!
I really hope things get moving naturally for you soon! I had to be induced with my first (started off well then everything stopped so was re started) and because the labour was being induced the pains were far more severe than natural ones I had with the next 2. The baby will come when it's ready and as much as you'll want to punch me right now - you really do have to be patient! But see the doc - best thing to do.
Take care and all the best - every last ache and pain really will all be worth it in the end - I promise!xx

Yes, It is called an "elected" induction. 39 weeks isn't that early either. I was induced at 39 weeks because my daughter was really huge. it was still considered elected however. Every Dr. is different , Most will work with you depending on how you are progressing. Remember in considering that 2 weeks prior to or after your due date is still not considered early or late. I have 4 kids and I got induced 3 out of the 4 times. They're are alot of people who don't agree with it. All of my children were big babies, or I had problems with protein in my urine . I hope this helps. I know that the last month and on is absolutely miserable.

I've never heard of this without there being a good medical reason. I got lucky and persuaded the hospital to induce me at just 5 days over. Most won't even consider it until 10 days and in some cases they'll leave you up to two weeks over. It would help if they think you have a big baby - they won't let you go so long. Good luck x

Unless there is a good medical reason, then no. Being induced is not a great option for you or your baby. It doesn't result in a baby appearing a few hours later. I know women who have been induced, had 36 hours in labour and then had a c-section. That's because their baby wasn't ready to come!
I'm sure you are fed up and want to meet your baby, but just wait a few more weeks to let your baby come naturally.

It depends on a couple of things, but probably not. If this is your first pregnancy and you seem to not be able to sleep or have other issues, if your fluids are getting lower or something seems distressing with your little one's vitals, they might. But they probably won't because it can be more stressful to induce than to let your body work the natural way. I know it seems like you have been pregnant forever, but your little one will come out when they are supposed to. Enjoy these last few days, sleep and life will be VERY different all too soon.

My doctor and prenatal class instructor were strongly against inductions. Inductions more than double the chance of a C-sec. and there is a risk of uterine rupture. It also increases the chance of jaundice in the newborn. Wait until you are 42 weeks along. I have had 4 kids and I was never induced and I never had any pain medication. They also say induction hurts much worse than a normal labor.

Unless you have something like pre-eclampsia they will let you go past your due date before inducing you, they want all babies to be full term, even just by one week. Have you seen all the press about early babies being socially behind developmentally and all sorts, it is definitely best for nature to take it's course, she knows what she is doing xx good luck xx

They will on start you off if there is a medical reason for it..

Hang in there love not much longer

The doctor told me, the baby will come when it is ready, and to start you off before that tends to cause complications with a difficult labour and birth........

good luck xxxxxx
