Manchester United. Liverpool are even with them skillwise, but Benitez ruins the team with his "rotation policy." If he just kept his best lineup instead of moving players in and out, the chemistry would be better and Liverpool would still have a shot at the Prem crown. Fergie knows his players and knows how they can play together, and that's why Manchester United are better than Liverpool.

- no of times they won FA cup
- how they dominate the early 90s
Unless Liverpool can dominate a certain period of time (something they has not done for a few decades now) Liverpool
For the same token, Liverpool is way better in European records if you are talking about no of times they won european cup. But you cannot compare past and present based no
a) nowadays with more games in league+cup, modern league is much harder to win
b) champions league has 32 teams and to win the leauge you need to play way more games
also the treble!! Liverpool has done a similar feat but it was league cup rather than FA cup.

Well, your question does not address HOW they are better. I have a program called League Pad, which is available on-line. It keeps a record of all stats from the matches in the Premier League. This does mean you have to enter all the info from each and every match played, such as team sheets, substitutions, goals, yellow cards, red cards, etc. Although Liverpool are in third place they got there through fair play. The current fair play league stats puts Liverpool on top with only 27 yellow cards, no double yellow cards, no red cards, Man U. are a long way behind with 41 yellow cards. So Man U. have played dirty to get where they are, Liverpool haven't. Therefore Liverpool are the better team. Sorry guys.

Depends if you are talking historicaly or at the moment.
Liverpool have won the top flight league competion more times (when it was still Leauge division one - before the Premiership rubbish) so historicaly Liverpool are better.
Man U have won the FA cup more than anyone else and have been the better out of the two on more recent results. So on current form Man U are the better team.

Liverpool. this is coming from a Liverpool fan but over the course of history Liverpool have been the more successful club. admittedly they are not at their best at the moment when it comes to winning the league which is where it really counts for English fans but you just have to look at their recent cup history especially European to see they still are a class team. LFC4EVER!!!!!!
