I just bought a Gateway laptop, my first one. Anyway, I wanted to know how to get wireless internet with it. I already have a wireless router (built into my FIOS modem), and the computer comes with a wireless networking card. Is there anything else I need to get internet access?

That should be it, you should be able to right click on the wireless icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select View Available wireless networks. You should then see your network in the list. If the wireless router is built into your modem, they most likely have a password, or WEP key which would keep just anyone from connecting to your modem. If you do not have this key you would most likely need to get it from your ISP. If you have your key and see your network in the list you should be able to double click the network, enter the key and get online!

Hope this helps .

If your laptop has a wireless card, and you have a wireless router you should be good to go. However, you may need to setup a network to get a good connection, it depends on what type of wireless router you are using.
