You will gain gas milage. But it depends on what cold air intake you put on as to how much you will gain. Same with power. I'd suggest the Weapon R Air Intake. It's the best out there for both gas milage and power. Scion is a great car. I'd treat it to the best! Try www.superchargedperformance.com. They have a few options for your xB.

If you put a cold air intake on your car, you might actually pick up a few MPG, maybe .5 or 1. The only problem is that with the slight increase in power, you might be more tempted to be heavier on the pedal, causing that increase in MPG to dissapear, or even become negative.
An CAI along with the same driving habits will cause a small increase in fuel economy

It will help cold air in a hot engine expands more creating better horsepower, because cold air has smaller molecule's than hot air. Its all to do with physics.

no you will not. rule of thumb is denser the charge the more power along with freer flowing air flow. helps create better fuel milage. a non restrictive air filter will allow more air to enter the chamber for added milage and power.
