Honey, I don't think your doctor can tell them that. The privacy laws protect you. That's what it means when you hear doctor/patient privileges. Maybe they suspect that you aren't and are trying to make sure you don't have any STDs and/or are pregnant. You can turn this situation around by asking if they will allow you to get on the pill since you are going anyway so that you won't become pregnant (since you admit you are not a "you know what"). That would be best, right?

Since you are under 18 you cannot dictate who knows what about your medical condition. All I can say is if the doctor is a kind one maybe she/he would not say anything re: your lack of virginity if you asked. Otherwise you will just have to bear the consequences of your parents being very disappointed and perhaps angry that you didn't wait.

MOST states allow for the parents knowing...you need to check the laws in your state

And BTW - YES, most GYN's can tell if you have been sexually active - and it has nothing to do with the presence or absence of the hymen membrane.

I don't think they can legally tell your parents that you're not a virgin. I highly recommend that you go to the ob/gyn, especially since you are sexually active. You need to make sure that you are protecting yourself and that everything is okay 'down there'. They'll do a pap test, and you may get the new HPV vaccine - espcially since you're under 18.
Don't be worried about it - your parents wouldn't be taking you if they thought you wouldn't be able ot handle it like an adult.

HELLO,
IN THE FIRST PLACE, IT'S NOT ABNORMAL TO BE A YOUNG GIRL AND BE A VIRGIN AND BE MISSING A HYMEN. YOUR GYN CANT REALLY KNOW FOR SURE IF YOU ARE A VIRGIN OR NOT BY DOING THE PELVIC EXAM.
IN THE SECOND PLACE, THERE IS A DOCTOR AND PATIENT PRIVILEDGE FOR WHICH YOUR TREATMENT/CONDITION WOULD REMAIN BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR DOCTOR.
IF YOU ARE NO LONGER A VIRGIN, THEN THIS IS BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR PARENTS, NOT BETWEEN YOUR DOCTOR AND THEM.
COME CLEAN AND TELL YOUR PARENTS THE TRUTH. BESIDES, HOW DO YOU KNOW IS YOU DON'T HAVE AN STD? THE DOCTOR CAN FIND THIS OUT FOR YOU.

They won't know because the Dr. won't know either. Your hymen not being present will mean nothing. Have no fear at all, really. There is no way that the Dr. could ever tell if you are one or not. Just DON'T have sex the days before, esp. unprotected. If she needs to do any tests semen would still be detectable.
If you DON'T go, and are nervous, then your parents will figure it out on their own.
I hope you are always having protected sex.

They wont tell your parents. Express this to the Dr. and the will respect your wishes. Its not a bad experience, and it will only benefit you in the long run.

They are not allowed to tell your parents. They really can't tell if you are a virgin or not anyway unless you tell them you are sexually active. On the link, scroll down to "It is very important to be frank and honest about your sex life."
