It sounds like you're REALLY close. I felt like I had the flu when I went into labor with my son. I didn't want food, but I DID want something to drink. I have bad teeth, so ice chips hurt.
My back hurt, though. It hurt like I had laid on it wrong, or something, and I felt crampy all day before. I also had the sh!ts real bad.
I couldn't sleep, I felt so bad, and so I called my doctor.
He chastised me for not coming in sooner. Needless to say, they admitted me the same night.
I hope that this is it for you. Pack your bags just in case.

You poor girl...I have had 3 children and believe me nothing is predictable when it comes to pregnancy. Your not hungry because you are full of baby. Just eat small amounts at a time more often whether you feel hungry or not. Of course you have a back ache your 38 weeks along. But a lot of women have back labor pains, that was how my first one was. I am surprised your dr. wants to strip your membranes allready. My dr. made me wait until I was 31 weeks before he would strip mine. Don't be afraid of it though, it doesnt hurt you or the baby. I really think you are just afraid because this is your first and that is perfectly normal. After all your whole life is about to change. I hope this was helpful.

Well alot of times lack of hunger can indicate impending labour. (dont think too much on it though sometimes it doesnt mean anything) I noticed myself that the last week i was pregnant i didnt want to eat, my sleep patterns were WAY off and i was cleaning my house like a mad woman. And about the dialating at 36 weeks thing, Nuh uh. It doesnt mean your gonna deliver by your due date. I stayed 2cm dialated for 3 weeks before my baby came and he was 3 weeks early. It just means your body is trying to get ready for everything.
Your doctor wants to strip your membranes?? Why to what end? Just look at your doctor and ask her why she wants to do it. If the answer has nothing to do with your health or the health of your child then simply say no i do not wish for this to happen and dont let her insist either.
Hope you have a safe and fast delivery!

When I was about 37 weeks I found that i had to force myself to eat. But try small meals like half a sandwich or some veggies. You'll need the energy.
On the stripping of the membranes I would politely tell my doctor that I would like to wait it out until the due date. I had to be induced but did so after my due date, and I was so glad. Now I have a beautiful 6 week old son and couldn't be happier, sleepy, but indeed very happy. Good luck!

It's normal. Your uterus and the baby is taking up alot of room in there. The uterus is likely pushing up on your stomach. Therefore, you won't have as much room in there. Plus, the backache is more than likely where everything is stretching. Your body releases a hormone as it gets closer to your baby's due date that will allow your joints to stretch and give. If you really don't want your membranes stripped, then tell her that you just aren't comfortable with it and would rather let nature take it's course. So many Dr's do things like this along with inductions, mainly for their own convenience. Just be firm with her. You will have to do more and more of it after your baby arrives and you have to make important decisions about his/her care. I wish you the very best of luck. I hope that things go well for you & the baby!!!!

You are out of room! I worry more about a huge baby then not eating. Once your baby is born you will want food, don't worry. Try to keep it "light and important" what little you eat make sure you pack alot of nutrition into, incase thats all you eat. Also, lots of water as always!!
Dialating means very little. You can dilate to 3 and stay there for weeks or go from 2 to fully dilated in just a few hours. It depends on both your body and your baby.
I know it is scary but you have to keep in mind that your OB/GYN knows what they are doing. If the doc is fearful of keeping your baby in, they don't always tell you. They try to get you to just go with the things they need to do.
** back ache hint - get on all fours and let your belly hang for a bit. Arch and lower your back to stretch it out. It can ease the discomfort.

You don't have to be aggressive to say no I don't want that done! They can't force you to do anything. It's your choice. Why at 38 weeks would they do that to start with? STRANGE to me. REFUSE it don't let anyone try to make you do something your not comfortable with and it hurts TOO!!!
Hunger yes I was starving the end of my pregnancies but since they baby is smashing your stomach you feel full quick. Try eating little snacks like fruit or veggies thru out the day helped me. Good luck!!!

It sounds like your body is getting ready to have the baby. Who knows when, but soon ;) About stripping the membranes, just tell your Dr. that you want to let nature take it's course (unless you go really late), so you'd rather not have that intervention -- act all mother-earth nature loving type. If she insists, ask WHY?

Late in pregnancy, your appetite may not be as big seeing as you've gotten much bigger, it's probably best to eat smaller more frequent meals. Also, your back ache is very normal, you're carrying 30+ more punds!! The cramping is normal too, you may be experiencing Braxton Hicks contrations. All of these are signs you will soon be having your baby, how soon? Only time will tell.

Its no longer the norm for many women folk people - maximum women folk people have nausea or vomiting in the process the 1st trimester. yet each and every lady is distinctive, and each being pregnant is distinctive. some say that your physique craves particular meals with nutrition it needs to maintain a healthful being pregnant.. perhaps your physique thinks youre underweight and needs to fatten you up a splash lol :)
